Variety of plants and animals

Blidinje Nature Park has always been inhabited by a variety of plants and animals. Not even the last two ice ages that affected this region, have stopped life. Some plants and animals managed to survive these natural disasters.

Today, the park is filled with numerous plants, ranging from Mediterranean ones to those that can be found in high mountains, including also a large number of endemic plants, from mushrooms to the beauty of the park – the Bosnian pine, which has its largest European habitat in Masna Luka and the neighbouring region.

A peculiarity among animals at the park is certainly the king of the woods – brown bear, and the jewel of the peaks of Čvrsnica – chamois.
